Wif's First Day Blogging

Greetings blogosphere (well, hub really). Hopefully this page will help us to remember a few details about the last trimester of Baby's gestation. Today was the first day of real vacation and we got a lot done. After a hearty breakfast of honey nut cheerios, Wif spent most of her time doing dishes; first catching up from yesterday and washing the new Tupperware, then cleaning up after our meals. Keeping up on dishes seems to be a full-time job. Fortunately, there was a good episode of Maury on today (1 man, 3 women & 4 babies) to make things a little easier. Hub's big task for today was painting; he put two samples on the wall (one dusty rose and one lavender) that weren't quite right, so we referred to the hand full of paint chips we acquired last weekend and chose another shade of pink to try. We went to Miller Paint and picked up some additional supplies and a quart of (seashell?) pink and headed home (with a quick stop at the grocery to secure lunch and blackberry pie provisions) to try the latest color. Thankfully our third choice was a winner giving hub the freedom to begin painting baby's room. After a delicious lunch of eggs sally and cookies for wif and PBJ, chips, coke & cookies for hub, wif headed out to her parents' house to sew. Meanwhile, hub began his painting project in earnest taping the room and applying the base coat. After a couple of hours, wif reached her sewing tolerance threshold (two sleeve edges away from completing her first onesie) and came home to feed hub a hearty dinner of ravioli, garlic bread and coke with a cookie for dessert. Once wif cleaned up from dinner, she rested and watched x-files, played Internet and did a few little chores. Hub and Wif decided to get rid of the highly sentimental but no longer practical Target filing cabinet from their first apartment. To facilitate the removal, wif moved the files and other items on that piece of furniture. It was a little tough since hub and wif are making so many changes ot the house (most of which involve getting rid of things) in a pretty short timeframe. Wif also explored the wonderful world of free online accounting lessons since knowledge in this field can only help wif at work.

Baby had a pretty good day it seems. She was fairly busy and at almost 27 weeks she's gotten pretty strong. Some of her kicks actually hurt. She also seems to have decided that she likes to hunker down on the right side of her house; this is also the side she likes to kick. Last night for the second night in a row she had hiccups. It was sort of cute but hub and wif felt bad for her - hiccups suck. She's not quite keeping a schedule of sleep and wake times. She'll stick to a pretty regular routine for a few days but then she changes things up for a bit. Hub and wif will ask about this matter at the next appointment (Monday, September 8).
